Our mission is to support the restoration and protection of the wildlife (flora and fauna) habitats of the Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Refuge, a unit of the Silvio O. Conte National Wildlife Refuge in Longmeadow, MA, to promote meaningful interaction with and appreciation of this environment, and to work in collaboration with others to achieve those desired outcomes.

Our Friends organization was formed in 2017 coinciding with the transfer of refuge land ownership to US Fish & Wildlife. Friends groups are independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that partner with specific National Wildlife Refuges. We support the Stebbins Refuge through education, hands-on conservation work, and facilitating coordinated efforts with other CT River floodplain stakeholders.
